The Best Bachelorette Party Idea in Bellingham: A Private Boat Charter

If the group chat has already covered brunch and a spa day, here's the one nobody else is doing: a private boat charter on Lake Whatcom. Wakesurfing included, no experience required, and it's just your group on the boat for the whole time.

Here's what the day actually looks like. You show up at Bloedel Donovan Boat Ramp with your crew, and the boat is yours, no strangers, no sharing your time with another group. A licensed captain runs the boat and a certified coach is on board the whole time, so whoever wants to wakesurf, wakeboard, or waterski gets coached through it. Everyone else can just relax, soak up the sun, and watch from the boat.

This works well for mixed groups. Maybe half the group wants to ride and half just wants to be on the water with a drink in hand. Both are covered. Nobody has to sit this one out just because they've never tried it before, and nobody has to ride if they'd rather not.

A few practical notes if you're planning one: charters run 1 to 8 hours, so you can go short and sweet or make a whole afternoon of it. The X10 holds up to 8 people, the Prostar 190 holds up to 4, so pick based on your group size. We recommend booking at least 48 hours ahead, and further out if you're eyeing a July or August weekend, those go fast.

Bring towels, sunscreen, swimsuits, and whatever you want for the boat, speaker, snacks, drinks. We handle the boat, the gear, and the coaching.
